Meeting with Iraqi Ambassador on Ottawa
On October 30th, 2018 , The Iraqi Embassy on Ottawa arranged a meeting between Mr. Abdulkarim Ka’ab – Iraqi Ambassador on Ottawa & Mr. Yasser Al Mimar, the president of Iraqi Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meeting was held on Embassy of Iraq, Ottawa. Both parties has discussed the way of activating the work of Canadian companies in Iraq’s market and to identify the most important barriers that face these companies, and finding the best approach to apply and adopt a significant methods to overcome obstacles and difficulties in the market.
The Ambassador informed Iraqi Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to play a key role in cooperation with the Iraqi Embassy in Ottawa to encourage Canadian companies to enter the Iraqi market and start implementation & investment some projects there, especially most of Iraq’s areas have a stable security.
Mr. Yasser Al Mimar has confirmed that many investment opportunities for Canadian companies are available in Iraq, and all parties need to coordinate more with the Canadian government and the Ministry of International Trade Diversification and with the Iraqi side to create a good conditions and environment appropriate for these companies to work in Iraq.

- $179 million in humanitarian assistance
- $34 million in development assistance
- $48 million in stabilization and security assistance

Canadian government scholarships
Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships – Canadian government scholarships and fellowships offered to international students undertaking postgraduate study within the natural and social sciences or health research.
Canada Graduate Scholarships – Master’s Program – Scholarships for Canadian students enrolled on a master’s degree or PhD at a (CGS-M allocated) university in Canada.
IDRC Research Awards – Canadian government scholarships for students from developing countries to undertake a master’s or doctoral-level research degree at a recognized Canadian university.

IPC’s Pipeline Conference & Cybernetics Symposium
ICCCI has attended IPC’s Pipeline Conference and Cybernetics Symposium last week. The IPC is an ideal opportunity for companies to get wider knowledge about the pipeline industry. The event is organized by the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) through the International Pipeline Conference Foundation (IPCF). The IPCF strives to support the pipeline industry through support of research, scholarships, and other good works.
